Super Club, live music and massage parlour

Super Club is a male entertainment venue for local Indonesians. The patrons, usually from the upper middle-class, come here to share a warm beer with friends, accompanied by a lady companion. They listen to the band playing their favourite tunes (half dangdut, half 70s indonesian pop), go on stage to sing when they get drunk enough, then dance for a while. They usually finish in the rooms of the massage parlour upstairs, which is a not so hidden bordello.

Super is super, according to SZ, fellow reporter of Jakarta nightlife: "You can also sing a bit if you like, encouraged by drunk customers who offer you Guinness and introduce you to prostitutes". SZ
