Scusa is the Italian restaurant of the Intercontinental Mid-Plaza Hotel. Though more affordable than Rosso in Shangri-La Hotel or Casa d'Oro in Kempinski, the standards are almost the same when it comes to service, design, and cuisine. A la carte, there are new dishes on the menu every day. You should pay around Rp350,000 for a 3-course meal without drinks (add Rp100,000 to that if you order something from the grill). They also have an interesting 3-course set lunch menu starting at Rp160,000++.
I was craving for pizza when I visited, so unfortunately my experience of Scusa is limited to that + a Mixed Salad + Marinated Strawberries. From this small sample, I was not disappointed, except for the dessert: The food in Scusa is authentic Italian, the same you could experience in Italy. Imported Italian ingredients are used: Mozzarella, Gorgonzola, Parmesan, Balsamic Vinegar, Mascarpone, etc… If you are familiar with Toscana in Kemang, I consider Scusa to offer similar food. My only problem was with the dessert: I thought the ice cream tasted average, and that the overall dish was below my expectations.

Overall: I considerer Scusa to be an excellent address for affordable, fine dining Italian cuisine in Jakarta. It is recommended on all occasions: Date, business lunch, solo... Note: At the time of my visit (June 2011) they didn't have free wifi even for clients of Intercontinental Hotel.
