I don't know if I'm perverted but I felt Nanny's Pavillon was a bit kinky with the waitresses dressed up as sexy French chambermaids and all those references to Daddy's favourite food...
Apart from being a man's fantasy, Nanny's Pavillon Library is also a restaurant catering for good Indonesian families and girl friend's. The setting of the restaurant is very girly and childish, with many fake artefacts, including the famous "Library". It's funny and cute but not awesome.
Looking at the menu, you really feel you want to try one of their waffles or pancakes, but eating grilled meat here seems a bit out of place. Nevertheless, I did just that by ordering the lamb chop with maple glaze (Rp 113k ++), the most expensive dish I think. My conclusion: Totally not worth it. The salad wasn't fresh, the meat had a lot of fat in it and the mushroom sauce was only average.
The banana pancake (Rp 24k++) was better though, just like the one you could taste in the US. Same thing with my lemonade (Rp18k++). I guess eating breakfast or having a snack in Nanny's Pavillon is fine, but for larger meals, you should avoid it.
I also found the restaurant to be quite noisy since there were two large fans working to make the air cooler. Last but not least, a couple was smoking just right next to us, and this was quite annoying, especially when eating the dessert. I hope more restaurants in Jakarta will start separating smokers from non-smokers.
